Who We Are

Firstlight Aviation is built by Firstlight Aviation Training Inc.. We build communication tools for construction professionals — tools that help you capture what's in your head and get it to the people who need it, clearly and accountably.

We believe the way a platform treats your data reflects its values. This document tells you exactly what we do with yours.

What We Collect

When you use Firstlight Aviation, we collect:

• Your name, email, and phone number when you create an account.
• Your voice recordings when you record a memo. These are transcribed and used to generate your crew briefs and client plans. The original audio is stored so you can replay it.
• Your crew and client information — names and phone numbers of people you add to jobs. This is how we deliver briefs via SMS.
• Your job data — job names, briefs, tasks, photos, client plans, acknowledgments, and activity logs. This is the core of what Firstlight Aviation does for you.
• Your photos when you attach them to briefs or project plans. These are stored and shared with the people you choose to send them to.

We do not collect anything we do not need. We do not track your location beyond what you choose to attach to a job. We do not collect information about your behavior outside Firstlight Aviation. We do not collect data from your device beyond what is technically necessary to run the platform.

What We Do With It

Everything we collect serves one purpose: making Firstlight Aviation work for you.

• Your voice recordings are transcribed and processed by AI to generate structured briefs, client plans, and tasks. That's it.
• Your job data is stored so you can access it, track progress, and keep a record of your projects.
• Your crew's phone numbers are used to send SMS briefs and task notifications. Nothing else.
• Your client's portal link is generated so they can view their project plan. They don't need an account or an app.

What We Never Do

We do not sell your data. To anyone. Ever.

We do not use your data for advertising. There are no advertisers on Firstlight Aviation. There never will be.

We do not share your data with third parties except the services listed below that are necessary to run the platform.

We do not use your data to train AI models. Your voice recordings, your briefs, your job data — none of it is used to train anyone's AI. Not ours. Not our providers'.

We do not listen to your recordings. Only the AI transcription service processes your audio. No human at Certus ever listens to your voice memos.

We do not mine your data for insights, patterns, or trends to sell or publish. Your data serves you and only you.

Third-Party Services

Running Firstlight Aviation requires the following services. Each may have contact with your data in the course of normal operation. We have chosen each carefully and we list them here completely.

Anthropic (Claude)

The AI that powers Firstlight Aviation's brief generation, client plans, and task extraction. Your voice transcripts are sent to Anthropic's API to generate structured outputs. Anthropic's API data is not used to train their models. Their privacy policy governs their handling of data in transit.

OpenAI Whisper

Used to transcribe your voice recordings into text. Your audio is sent to Whisper's API, transcribed, and the text is returned to Firstlight Aviation. Refer to OpenAI's API data usage policy for their handling commitments.

Twilio

Used to send SMS messages to your crew and clients. Phone numbers and message content pass through Twilio's infrastructure for delivery.

Supabase

Our database provider. Your account information, job data, and project plans are stored here on secure cloud infrastructure.

Netlify

Our hosting provider. Serves Firstlight Aviation to your device and provides blob storage for briefs and media.

We do not use analytics tools that track your behavior. We do not use advertising networks. We do not use data brokers.

If we ever add a new third-party service that touches your data, we will update this document and notify you before the change takes effect.

Your Crew and Clients

When you add crew members to a job and send them a brief, they receive an SMS with a link. They do not need to create an account. They do not need to download an app.

What we store about your crew:

• Their name and phone number (which you provide).
• Their acknowledgments, task responses, and any questions they submit through the brief link.

What we store about your clients:

• Their name (which you provide).
• Their activity on the client portal — whether they've viewed the plan, approved change orders, etc.

Crew members and clients can request deletion of their data by contacting us. We will honor that immediately.

Your Rights

You own your data. Here is what you can do with it:

• See it — request a complete copy of everything we hold about you at any time.
• Correct it — if something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
• Export it — download your briefs, job data, and project plans at any time. Your data should never be trapped in our platform.
• Delete it — request deletion of your account and all associated data. We will delete it immediately and completely. We do not retain copies. We do not archive it. It is gone.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@certusguardian.com. We will respond within 5 business days.

How Long We Keep Your Data

As long as your account is active.

When you delete your account — or request deletion — your data is deleted immediately. Not archived. Not anonymized and retained. Deleted.

If your account is inactive for 12 months, we will contact you before deleting it. If we do not hear back within 30 days, we will delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. We do not store passwords in plain text. We conduct regular security reviews.

If there is ever a security breach that affects your data, we will notify you directly and honestly — what happened, what data was affected, and what we are doing about it — within 72 hours of discovery.

We will not minimize it. We will not delay it. We will tell you the truth.

Changes to This Document

If we change these terms in any way that affects how we handle your data, we will notify you directly before the change takes effect. We will tell you plainly what changed and why.

We will not bury changes in a document and hope you do not notice.

Our Pricing Promise

Firstlight Aviation is priced to sustain itself honestly. We charge what it costs to run the platform plus a fair margin to keep building and improving it. We do not price for extraction. We do not charge for features you don't use. We do not raise prices to satisfy investors.

Firstlight Aviation exists to help people do their jobs better. The pricing reflects that — nothing more, nothing less.
